Artist Bio

A dentist for nearly 20 years, Amy, a self-taught artist and writer, now creates fabric/quilted works, the written word, and mixed-media. She is best known for bright and bold work that engages natural themes, pop art vibes, and folk techniques. Her work references early American and European quilting, embroidery, and botanical drawings through a modern technicolor lens. Through her work, she amplifies the natural world and embraces the duality of the old-fashioned and the modern. She typically employs improvisational quilt construction, applique, and collage techniques as well as visible hand and machine stitching.
